Jack O Brien


Jack is a co-founder of OBL and has practised for over 27 years in all aspects of insurance litigation and dispute resolution.

His considerable litigation experience includes catastrophic personal injuries, professional indemnity, property and material damage, public liability, employers’ liability and product liability.

Jack was appointed to the litigation committee of the Law Society of Ireland in 2016 and has acted as an expert witness in professional indemnity cases. He writes and lectures regularly on developments in litigation and presents to clients as part of panels in Ireland and in the UK.

When it comes to litigation, Jack combines sound legal judgement with a pragmatic business and commercial sense. In recent years he has increasingly practised in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Mediation.

He is a CEDR Accredited Mediator and completed the Harvard Negotiation Masterclass in May 2023.

Jack is authorised to practise as a registered foreign lawyer in England and Wales.
